Sintered Diamond Core Drills
-3/8″ Shaft
-Most economical
-Sintered 1/2″ of diamond
For use with a rubber-base ring in a tripod suction-cup style drilling machine. A suitable coolant or even water can be used to keep the drill bit and glass cool. Sintered diamond core drill bits are the most economical, drilling thousands of holes at just pennies per hole. Typically diamond drill bit life is 2,000-5,000 holes in ¼ glass. Sintered diamond core drill bits are manufactured by bonding a mixture of diamond and a bronze matrix to the core of the drill bit using heat and pressure to form a ring. Diamonds are horizontally embedded in this bond and the balance stick out forming numerous cutting edges. When the bit becomes dull the bit can be sharpened by drilling into a wet dressing stone.
